Shavuot (Pentecost)
His Spirit of EliYahu (Holy Spirit) is given [sown Word of Light
in his sanctified heart] to the spiritual birth for the shortened days
to restore His things in his heart till his fleshly death.
Luke 3:22 ",,,Ruach haKodesh (Holy Spirit) descended upon Him
in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven,
“You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased."
His Alpha/first coming brings the beginning of spiritual life to everyone who repents with His Blood of purification (Passover/Pesach/Son of Life) in his heart who is called out of the kingdom of coldness/darkness, eats His Matzot (Unleavened bread of truth and honesty), receives His Spirit of Life (Shavuot/Penetcost) in his sanctified heart, and dwells in His Kingdom/Tabernacle (Booths/Sukkot) on the earth for the shortened days of his mortal life, till the 8th day of Sukkot is perceived as the great day of His Omega/second coming at his fleshly death.
To observe the day of Shavuot (Shabbatoth):
The Hebrew transliteration and its English transliteration on Lev. 23:15-16:
15. us’phar’tem lakem mimacharath haShabbat miyom
habi’akem ‘eth-`omer hat’nuphah sheba` Shabbatoth t’mimoth tih’yeynah.
Lev23:15 You shall count for yourselves from the morrow after the Shabbat, from the day
when you brought in the sheaf of the wave offering; there shall be seven complete Shabbats.
16. `ad mimacharath haShabbat hash’bi`ith tis’p’ru chamishim yom
w’hiq’rab’tem min’chah chadashah laYahúwah.
Lev23:16 Until the morrow after the seventh Shabbat, you shall number the fifty days;
then you shall present a new grain offering to YHWH.
From the day of Wave Sheaf on the 16th of Abib, we are instructed only to count 7 Shabbats that are separated from the working days, then the day after 7th Shabbat which is the 50th day arriving at the 9th day of 3rd month, not to count 7 weeks nor 50 days of the Gregorian calendar. The Lev. 23:15-16 Hebrew text "sheba shabbatoth", it is said to count 7 Shabbats/Shabbatoth and 50th day after the 7th Shabbat. Isa. 66:22 And it shall be from Chodesh to Chodesh and from Shabbat to Shabbat, all mankind shall come to bow down before Me, says YHWH. It speaks of two different cycles: from Chodesh to Chodesh [29-30 day intervals] and from Shabbat to Shabbat [7-day intervals], since the one or two-day Chodesh is not included in the "from Shabbat to Shabbat" cycle.
In Greek translation: Matt. 28:1 “And on the eve of the Shabbats, as it was dawning toward the first of the Shabbats, .....” The first of the Shabbats means the beginning of the count of the next 7 Shabbats. It begins at the end of the previous Shabbat to start the count of the next 7 Shabbats. Also it is the day of Wave Sheaf (16th of Abib) which is the beginning of the count of the next 7 Shabbats to the day of Shavuot.
We count 7 Shabbats/Shabbatot (Shavuot means 7 Shabbats):
1st month 3rd Shabbat (22nd) (1) and 4th Shabbat (29th) (2),
2nd month 1st (8th) (3), 2nd (15th) (4), 3rd (22nd) (5), 4th Shabbats (29th) (6),
3rd month 1st Shabbat (8th) (7), then 50th day after 7 counted Shabbats is
the day of Shavuot on the 9th day of 3rd month,
excluding the Chodesh days which are only used for the full/new moon observation.
Lev. 23:15-16 shows us how to count 7 Shabbats to the day of Shavuot:
From the morrow after the Shabbat....Until the morrow after seventh Shabbat is a span of 50 days from the beginning of the Shabbatical count until the end, excluding the days of Chodesh. Those who count the 50 days of the Omer, that is not the same as His instruction of counting 7 Shabbats teaches us to follow, make it like their feast of fifty days (chag chamishim-yammim), not Chag Shavuot. Why do they count the days of labor (burdens)? Our counting of the Shabbats is good because the Shabbat frees us from all the days of labor. Remember Yahushua is the master of Shabbat for all of us to follow Him! Let us only count the 7 sanctified Shabbat days that are separated from the working days, then the day of Shavuot is also the sanctified day.
Ex. 34:22 And thou shalt observe the feast of Shauvot, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end. Interestingly, the firstfruits of wheat harvest is the earliest harvest that is often found between the days of early May and early June, as I see many online information in the ancient Israel days. The warmer climate and plenty of rain is the main reason for the earliest harvest, for the example of the Nile river in the ancient days of Egypt where they grew well near it. The latest harvest can continue thru the summer days that can be varied depending on the warm or cool climates in the north areas and more or less rain.
Deut. 16:9-10 speaks only to count 7 Shabbats to the day of Shavuot which is after the seventh Shabbat.
It is the same formula for the fifieth year (Jubilee/Yobel) that is to count 7 Shabbats (Shabbtot) of years plus the year after the 7th Shabbat of years is 7x7 + 1 = 50. Shavuot means the multiple of Shabbats in which we only count 7 Shabbats to the day of Shavuot after the seventh Shabbat, not to add the multiple of days (50) to 7 x 7 Shabbats (49).
Lev 25:8-13 You are also to count off seven Shabbats of years for yourself, seven times seven years, so that you have the time of the seven Shabbats of years, namely, forty-nine years. You shall then sound a rams horn abroad on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the day of atonement you shall sound a horn all through your land. You shall thus consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim a release through the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, and each of you shall return to his own property, and each of you shall return to his family. You shall have the fiftieth year as a jubilee; you shall not sow, nor reap its aftergrowth, nor gather in from its untrimmed vines. For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy to you. You shall eat its crops out of the field. On this year of jubilee each of you shall return to his own property.
Beware of those who errorously count 50 more days after 7 complete Shabbats:
Some may even think of the additional count of 50 days after the seventh Shabbat which would be in 4th or 5th month as it looks like the Shavuot-Chamishim-yamim feast to them (7x7 + 50). It seems that they use 50 days instead of the 50th day that is supposed to be a feast of Shavuot. Why do they add 50 days that are not all sanctified after the count of the seven complete Shabbats that are separated from the working days? It delays the celebration of the firstfruits of wheat to their late summer festival if they counted additional 50 days.
The count of 7 Shabbats to the day of Shavuot are all sanctified, but the manly count to add 50 days after the seventh Shabbat is mixed with the days of labor and the days of sanctification are more confused to all of us because of the distraction of days of sanctification and not sanctification.
7 extra Shabbats are included in their additional 50 days after the 7th Shabbat, making their erroneous count including 14 Shabbats in contrary to what YHWH commands us only to count 7 Shabbats to the day of Shavuot, for Lev. 23:15-16 speaks of only 7 complete Shabbats prior to the day of Shavuot.
The day of Shavuot (9th day of 3rd month) is 4 months apart from the feast of ingathering/harvest (Sukkot in 7th month) which is after the end of the agricultural year that is at the end of 6th month. John 4:35 Do you not say, There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.
We cannot serve the Master of Shabbat (Yahushua) and the master of unrest (hasatan)!
We are the children of His Light (sanctification) called out of the kingdom of darkness, for He separates the day from the night, so likewise He separates the day of sanctification (rest) from the days of unrest. We are the children of His Shabbat (Kingdom of rest) for we are sanctified to be the children of His Light separating from the kingdom of unrest, for we follow His instructions of sanctification.
Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost):
Ex. 23:16 “And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the field.”; 34:22-23 “And thou shalt observe the feast of Shauvot, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year’s end. Thrice in the year shall all your men children appear before YHWH Elohim, the Eloah of Yisrael.”; Lev. 23:15-16 “And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Shabbat, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Shabbats shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh Shabbat shall be ye number fifieth day; and ye shall offer a new meal offering unto YHWH.” ; Deut. 16:10 “And thou shalt keep the feast of Shavuot unto YHWH thy Elohim with a tribute hand, which thou shalt give unto YHWH thy Elohim hath blessed thee.”
Acts 2:1-4 “And when the day of Shavuot (Pentecost) was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues dividing a part, like as of fire; and it sat upon each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit (Ruach haKodesh), and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”; 2:13 “But others were mocking and saying, “There are full of sweet (new) wine.”
The Hebrew word Shavuot/Shabbatot means Shabbats. We are only to count seven Shabbats , not 7 weeks, since the Shabbats are of the lunar calendar with New/Full Moon announcements. It was because of the day of Shavuot the disciples and followers of Yahushua the Nazirite received the baptism of Holy Spirit and becomes the chosen ones serving YHWH. It was done after the repentance of their fleshly works thru the Pesach (Passover) of Messiah washing His blood in them. We do not count the days of labor, but only the days of Shabbats (days of rest). On the contrary, those do count the 50 days that looks like the feast of days (chag yamim).
The morrow after the seventh Shabbat:
Lev. 23:15-16 “And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Shabbat, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Shabbats shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh Shabbat shall be ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meal offering unto YHWH.”
The morrow after the seventh Shabbat is one day (Day of Shavuot) to celebrate. To understand the count of 50 days is to count from the morrow of the Shabbat until the morrow of 7th Shabbat in which means to muliply 7 Shabbats x 7 = 49 plus one day after the seventh Shabbat.
First, we count 7 sanctified Shabbats then the 50th day comes after the seventh Shabbat for the feast of Shavuot to celebrate, where the counting of His sanctified Shabbats and appointed days is only instructed according to His commandment where there is no work involved!
Suppose that the Pesach (Passover) falls on a Tuesday, as we all know it is 14th of Abib [day of preparation], then the day [16th] after the Shabbat (15th) would be on a Thursday to mark the beginning of our counting the Omer and the first Shabbat counted would be on a Wednesday and the next 6 Shabbats are counted before the day of Shavuot.
The six working days, the day of Shabbat, the day of Chodesh:
In this case, it has to be the lunar weekly cycle starting from the day of every Chodesh (lunar month), toward the Shabbat days on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th because the day of Chodesh is not in the weekly cycle, but in the monthly cycle that reset the new weekly cycle every lunar month. Every lunar month has 4 weeks of six working days and the day of Shabbat [4x7=28] plus a day of Chodesh or two if necessary. Isa. 66:23 And it shall be from Chodesh to Chodesh and from Shabbat to Shabbat, all mankind shall come to bow down before Me, says YHWH.
Amos 8:5 explains how to observe every Chodesh and its Shabbats separated from all the working days.
The Gregorian or Jewish calendar cannot follow month by month with what Eze. 46:1 and Isa. 66:23 command all of us to follow His instruction in keeping all those days that are only fit in the lunar month above! Even the Gregorian/Jewish calendar cannot follow His instruction of counting 7 Shabbats to the day of Shavuot (Pentecost)!
The major problem is with those who keep the Saturdays as their rest days, so they had to change the translation of Shabbats to the weeks because of the Saturdays they kept as their 7th days, yet it makes impossible for them to follow His instructions wholly! The main reason is that they count the 7 weeks to the 50th day while they keep their Saturday rest days and ignore His commanded instruction of counting the lunar Shabbats! His lunar calendar makes more sense to follow His instructions when to observe His moadim (feasts) thru the Chodesh and its lunar Shabbats.
On the Shavuot (Baptism of Holy Spirit):
Acts 2:1-4 “And when the day of Shavuot was now come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues dividing a part, like as of fire; and it sat upon each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
The Shavuot gives you the baptism of Holy Spirit after the Pesach brings you the sanctification from His blood purifying your sins (works of lawlessness), and finally you dwell in the booth (tabernacle) of Sukkot with the Heavenly father.
Day of First fruits:
The day of first fruits is the day of Shavuot (Pentecost) which is the 50th day after the seven Shabbats are counted from the day of Wave Sheaf. As to Daniel 9:26, the Messiah is cut (crucified), in which the first sheaf is cut to wave. Yahushua our Messiah is the first fruit of all
when he was resurrected on the Wave Sheaf (the morrow after the Shabbat) on the 16th, then we all the first fruits of His resurrection on the 50th day after the seven Shabbats are counted as the people received the baptism of Holy Spirit on the day of Shavuot as it is recorded on Acts 2.
Baptism of Holy Spirit:
Restoration of seven times blessings/shabbats to the level of purity in heart to the day of Light/Salvation (50th day). Psalms 12:6 The words of YHWH are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times; Judges 16:13,19:7 locks of hair of Samson (7 times strength in spiritual growth); Job 5:17-20 speaking of 7 strengths of Elohim in purity of heart; Psalms 12:6; 119:164-168 speaking of seven times of praising YHWH. (Check P92 Mitzvah notes). The baptism of Holy Spirit restores 7 times back in the heart to the full purity from the fall of man (Genesis 3). Genesis 4:24 If Cain is avenged sevenfold (of cursings), then Lamech seventy-sevenfold.” Proverbs 6:16-19; Matt. 12:45; Matt 18:21-22 Yahushua speaks of the forgiveness up to seventy times seven.....The violation of the commandment of Life (in Genesis 2) lost 7 times of blessings because of the cursings made visible, so it requires all men to repent and restores back to the purity in their heart with the baptism of Holy Spirit, lest they die in vanity. To restore back to Shabbat/rest (perfection/purity) on the 7th day, we need 6 days labor thru the law of purification to purge out the dead works of impurity, like the woman’s cleansing process in 7 days. Often the seven is mentioned in the Bible as the restoration/completion of law of purification.
From the day of Wave Sheaf:
The day of Resurrection of Yahushua the firstfruit of all. It purges out all the leavened bread of malice in the hearts of those who repent from their foolishness, in order to receive the baptism of Holy Spirit (7 times spiritual strength) into their purified hearts.
