Chag haMatzot
(Feast of Unleavened Bread)
For example: if the full/new moon (Chodesh) is estimated to rise at 8:28pm CDT (Central Daylight time) on April 9, 2009 after the sun sets at 7:50pm,
then the 1st Chodesh (Abib) would be from the sunset of April 9 to the sunset of April 10.
Pesach 2010 begins at the 14th evening of the projected date (April 11). Chag haMatzot begins at the evening of April 12 (1st day)
and ends at the evening of April 19.
Fifteenth Day of 1st month:
Fifteenth day is the first day of Unleavened Bread.
Unleavened Bread:
Ex. 12:8 “And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread, and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.”; 13:7 “Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.”; 23:14-16 “Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread...for in it thou camest out of Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty...Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before YHWH Elohim.” [three feasts: Pesach/Son, Shavuot/Holy Spirit, Sukkot/Father]; 29:2 “And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them.”; Num. 6:15; 9:11; 28:17; Deut. 16:8; 2 King 23:9.
Luke 22:7 “Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.”; 1 Cor. 5:6-8 “Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaventh the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Messiah our passover is sacrificed: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”; 2 Cor. 5:17 “...if any man be in Messiah, he is a new creature (unleavened): old things (leavened bread of malice and wickedness) are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
We cannot participate in the spiritual feast of Pesach (Passover) unless we throw out our leavened bread of ignorance and blindness in order to eat the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
To put away the leaven is to decrease it. The waning crescent moon is decreasing its light of leavening then it is gone before the 15th of Abib. The unleavened bread is a flat bread as crust that looks like the waxing crescent moon. The leavened bread looks like a full moon.
Feast of unleavened bread unto YHWH:
The feast of unleavened bread is the spiritual food of purity and sincerity where there are no leaven found such as malice, greediness, hatred, jealousness, lying, cheating. The spiritual food for His servants is to do the will of Him who sends His Son to restore us back to His Kingdom of perfection where there is no imperfection found in the hearts of those who seek the sanctification of His blood washing the sins (works of lawlessness).
Seven days:
Ex. 22:30 “Likewise shall you do with your oxen, and with your sheep: seven days it shall be with its mother; on the eighth day you shall give it to me.”; Lev. 12:2-3 “Speak to the children of Yisrael, saying, If a woman conceives seed, and bears a man-child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of the impurity of her sickness shall she be unclean. And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.”; Eze. 43:25-27 “Seven days shall you prepare every day a goat for a sin-offering: they shall also prepare a young bullock, and a ram out of the flock, without blemish. Seven days shall they make atonement for the altar and purify it; so shall they consecrate it. And when they had accomplished the days, it shall be that upon the eighth day, and forward, the priests shall make your burnt-offerings upon the altar, and your peace-offerings; and I will accept you, says Adonai YHWH.”
Acts 21:4 “And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Shaul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Yahrushaliem.”; 28:14
Seven days are the completion of the Law of purification to purge out our fleshly works of uncleanness before we can receive the spiritual cleanness. On seventh day, it is to purify his soul and body in preparation for His sanctification after the completion of the Law of purification (7 days).
Seven days ye shall eat unleavened bread:
To restore us back to His Kingdom of perfection, we need the completion of restoration (multiplication of seven) by first seeking the sanctification of His blood washing our sins, secondly receiving the baptism of Holy Spirit, lastly doing His will faithfully (eating the unleavened bread of sincerity and honesty). The works of uncleanness requires seven days to restore back to the state of cleanliness such as the womanly period, the touching of the dead.
Bake the unleavened bread for two days on the sixth day (14th of Abib and 21th of Abib):
Ex. 16:22-30 Now on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one. When all the leaders of the congregation came and told Moshe, then he said to them, This is what YHWH meant: Tomorrow is a Shabbat observance, a holy Shabbat to YHWH. Bake what you will bake and boil what you will boil, and all that is left over put aside to be kept until morning. So they put it aside until morning, as Moshe had ordered, and it did not become foul nor was there any worm in it. Moshe said, Eat it today, for today is a Shabbat to YHWH; today you will not find it in the field. Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the Shabbat, there will be none. It came about on the seventh day that some of the people went out to gather, but they found none. Then YHWH said to Moshe, How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My instructions? See, YHWH has given you the Shabbat; therefore He gives you bread for two days on the sixth day. Remain every man in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. So the people rested on the seventh day.
The day of preparation (6th day of lunar week) is on the 14th day of Abib as to bake the unleavened bread for two days (14th and 15th), so we come to rest on the Shabbat on the 15th and eat the unleavened bread which is on the 1st day of Unleavened Bread. Likewise with the 21st of Abib which is on the 7th day of ULB, it is also the day of preparation to bake the unleavened bread for two days (21st and 22nd).
Lev 23:5-7 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month between the evenings is the Passover of YHWH. Then on the fifteenth day of the same month there is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to YHWH; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work.
For those who follow the Gregorian dates: Suppose that the day of Passover falls on a Tuesday and the 15th of Abib is their high sabbath on the following day (Wednesday) then they would make the unleavened bread for two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) so they rest on that Wednesday, then they would do the same again for two days (Friday and Saturday) so they rest on their sabbath (Saturday rest day), in which is unscriptural. Why twice?
Or suppose that the day of Passover falls on a Thursday and the 15th of Abib is their high sabbath on the following day (Friday), and their sabbath (Saturday), then they would have to make the unleavened bread for three days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday), so they rest on two sabbaths (15th and 16th).
Also those erroneously claim that there was the high sabbath (15th of Abib) on a Friday, then the weekly sabbath (16th) on the following day (Saturday) before the resurrection of the Messiah, in which the unleavened bread had to be made for three days because of 2 sabbaths?
Feast of unleavened bread:
The feast of unleavened bread is the beginning of your spiritual life to eat the Bread of Life daily after your leavened bread (works of lawlessness that cause the leaven of wickedness) is removed from your altar (heart). The feast of unleavened bread is the work of honesty and sincerity and the feast of the leavened bread is the work of dishonesty and cowardice that promote the fleshly powers. 1 Cor. 5:7-8 “Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For haMashiyach our Passover also has been sacrificed. Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” We cannot participate in the spiritual feast of Unleavened Bread unless we throw out our leavened bread of ignorance and blindness first then we can eat (perform) the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep:
As 1 Cor. 5:7-8 says you are His unleavened bread consumed in the fire always, for the works of unleavened bread are of His Kingdom forever. No leaven (fleshly work) is saved for His Kingdom but is rather to be destroyed in the consummation to purge out. Therefore we keep our unleavened bread feast in our heart (altar) forever before the eyes of YHWH.
Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread:
The eternal indication of seven days means to complete the purification where we eat (do) the works of unleavened bread eternally.
Unleavened Bread vs. Leavened Bread:
1 Cor. 5:6-8 “Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Messiah our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”
We are the children of Unleavened Bread to eat His Bread of Life in sincerity and truth but those who are the children of Leavened Bread eat the bread (do the words) of malice and wickedness.
Beware of leaven:
Matt. 16:6-12 “...Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the Saducees...but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Saducees.”; 1 Cor. 5: 6-8 “Your glorifying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For our Passover also has been sacrificed, even the Messiah: therefore let us keep the Feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”
We, the children of Unleavened Bread, are aware of those eating the leavened bread of malice and wickedness, because of their unbelief in the Law of Life.
